Carolina Herrera

Director of Communications

Carolina Herrera is responsible for executing on internal and external communications and marketing at CASEL to consistently articulate our mission, building and sustaining CASEL’s reputation among the field as a leader in social and emotional learning, and pursuing efforts to engage key audiences as the trusted source for quality SEL expertise and guidance.

She previously served as associate director of development at CASEL to support and implement CASEL’s development projects and plans, assist with the execution of outreach and engagement strategies, and bridge fundraising and communications efforts across the organization. Before CASEL, she worked as the associate director of development for the National Child Research Center (NCRC), an independent school in Washington, D.C. that offers an inclusive and diverse play-based model to provide children with a strong foundation on which to build their future. At NCRC, she managed donor projects and relations and was responsible for leading all web and social communication initiatives in relation to fundraising and branding.

Carolina earned her master’s degree in journalism at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and her bachelor’s degree in communications at James Madison University.
