Graduate Research Assistant
Sushmita Singha is a part of CASEL’s Research-Practice Partnership team, where she works with a variety of data to assess both continuous improvement and systemic social and emotional learning implementation. Additionally, she provides research and evaluation support to the upcoming CASEL Program Guide.
Sushmita has several years of professional and academic research experience. She worked on several randomized evaluation of energy and environmental programs as a DRW Fellow at the Energy Policy Institute at University of Chicago (EPIC). As a senior research associate at Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), Sushmita led research operations on a randomized controlled trial of smart energy meters for reducing electricity distribution losses. In the past, Sushmita has worked on environment, urban, and economic research and project management at several organizations in New Delhi, including the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA), The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), and the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER). Sushmita graduated from the University of Chicago with an MS in Environmental Science and Policy. She also has an MS and BS in Economics.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking, and traveling.
