Executive Assistant, Practice and Programs
Megan Smith is responsible for supporting the CASEL Practice Team executives in their work to advance implementation of evidence-based social and emotional learning in school districts across the nation.
Prior to joining CASEL, Megan was an educator, teaching English and social studies at Novato High School in Northern California. Upon moving to Chicago, she transitioned to the nonprofit world and previously worked as programs coordinator for a scholarship-granting organization.
Megan holds a bachelor of arts degree in sociology from Sonoma State University, a secondary-level teaching certification from Dominican University of California, and a specialized certificate in grant writing from DePaul University. She is an avid runner who has channeled her experience running marathons by mentoring and coaching middle-school girls in the Girls on the Run program.
