As a member of the Illinois Children's Mental Health Task Force, CASEL helped draft the Children’s Mental Health Act. This legislation created the Illinois Children's Mental Health Partnership (hereafter Partnership) to develop and monitor implementation of a Children's Mental Health Plan. Along with the Partnership, CASEL is working to build widespread public awareness of the content and rationale for the SEL learning standards that form a portion of this plan. CASEL has also published a revised version of Safe and Sound with additions and supplements designed specifically to make the guide optimally useful to Illinois educators operating under these standards.
