Rawan Dissi works on the Comprehensive Strategies to Promote Social and Emotional Learning project in Chicago Public Schools to assess the impact of classroom-based SEL compared to classroom-based SEL that is integrated schoolwide. She also works on the CASEL Guide that provides a systematic framework for evaluating the quality of social and emotional programs.
Prior to joining CASEL, Rawan worked at the University of Illinois at Chicago with the Social and Emotional Research Team. She was also a continuing education instructor for the City Colleges of Chicago working with students ages 5-13.
Rawan’s professional interest includes social behavior, community human services, and developmental psychology, race and equality and social and emotional learning. She earned her Bachelors of Arts degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
