Professional Development

CASEL has offered multi-day training programs to school teams in the past that have been based on our guide, Sustainable Schoolwide Social and Emotional Learning, Implementation Guide and Toolkit.

According to CASEL’s current strategic plan, our approach now is to focus on the scale of the school district rather than individual schools. Typically CASEL implementation training is done through an intermediary body which provides the funding, such as a state department of education, regional offices of education, etc.

Schools that are seeking opportunities to train school teams in SEL implementation should establish support in their district that indicates the involvement of district leaders to implement or pilot SEL across the district. Funding sources for training are varied and extend from local to state and federal grants.

The Guide and Toolkit continues to be a valuable resource to schools. Other tools are being developed to assist districts in district-wide SEL implementation.
